NOC Engineer

C2H / 50-55hr / Hybrid Work / Providence, Rhode Island

We are looking for a proactive and detail-oriented NOC Engineer to join our Network Operations Center team. This role is responsible for monitoring, troubleshooting, and maintaining enterprise systems and network infrastructure, ensuring maximum uptime and performance across critical environments. The ideal candidate has strong experience across networking, firewalls, Active Directory, and Windows Server/OS and thrives in a fast-paced, 24/7 operations environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Monitor network and system performance using NOC tools; respond to alerts and incidents in real time.
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues across networking (routing, switching), firewalls, and server infrastructure.
• Administer and support Active Directory, including user accounts, group policies, and access management.
• Maintain and support Windows Server and desktop environments, including patching and system updates.
• Configure and manage firewalls, VPNs, and network security policies.
• Perform initial triage and escalate complex issues to engineering teams as needed.
• Document incidents, resolutions, and standard operating procedures.
• Participate in shift rotations and on-call support as required.

Required Qualifications:

• 3–5+ years of experience in a NOC, Network Support, or Systems Support role.
• Strong understanding of networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, routing, switching).
• Hands-on experience with firewalls and network security concepts.
• Experience with Active Directory and Windows Server administration.
• Familiarity with monitoring tools (SolarWinds, PRTG, Nagios, or similar).
• Solid troubleshooting and incident response skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in a 24/7 NOC environment or managed services (MSP).
• Exposure to cloud platforms (Azure or AWS).
• Knowledge of ITIL processes (incident, problem, change management).
• Relevant certifications such as CompTIA Network+, Security+, or Cisco CCNA.
