STEM Tutor (Hybrid Position)

Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic STEM Tutor to join our educational team in a hybrid capacity. This role involves providing personalized instruction in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics to students of various ages, with an emphasis on fostering a love for learning and academic success. The ideal candidate will have a passion for teaching, strong subject matter expertise, and experience working with children in both classroom and one-on-one settings. This position offers flexible scheduling with both in-person and remote components, making it perfect for individuals committed to making a positive impact on students' educational journeys.

Duties

• Deliver engaging tutoring sessions focused on STEM subjects such as physics, calculus, advanced functions, chemistry, and related fields.
• Develop customized lesson plans tailored to each student's learning style and academic needs.
• Assist students in understanding complex concepts through clear explanations and practical examples.
• Monitor student progress and provide constructive feedback to support continuous improvement.
• Utilize computer skills to incorporate educational technology tools into lessons effectively.
• Maintain a positive and encouraging learning environment both virtually and in-person.
• Collaborate with parents, teachers, and other educators to ensure comprehensive support for each student’s development.

Qualifications

• Pursuing an undergraduate degree in STEM subjects, a STEM graduate, or incoming undergrad is required
• Prior experience working with children/teens in educational or tutoring settings is highly desirable.
• Strong knowledge of STEM subjects.
• Teaching or classroom experience is preferred but not required; relevant training will be provided.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain concepts clearly and patiently.
• Proficiency in computer skills and familiarity with educational software or online learning platforms.
• Background in special education or experience working with diverse learners is a plus.
• Passion for education and helping students succeed academically.
