Position Summary
The Packaging Technician III is responsible for performing manual and automated packaging, labeling, filling, and assembly operations in a regulated pharmaceutical manufacturing environment. This position ensures clinical products are packaged according to current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP), Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and customer specifications while maintaining the highest standards of quality, safety, and compliance.
Technicians perform in-process inspections, complete required documentation, and support packaging operations in primary, secondary, refrigerated (2–8°C), and frozen (-20°C) environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform manual and automated assembly, filling, packaging, and labeling of pharmaceutical products.
- Conduct in-process inspections and Acceptable Quality Level (AQL) inspections to ensure compliance with quality standards.
- Follow cGMP regulations, SOPs, work instructions, and customer requirements.
- Complete production documentation accurately and maintain required electronic records.
- Participate in packaging line setup, changeovers, and job closeout activities.
- Assist in cleaning and maintaining production areas and equipment.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives through Practical Process Improvement (PPI) programs.
- Promote a safe work environment by following all company safety policies and procedures.
- Collaborate effectively with team members and cross-functional departments.
- Perform additional duties and overtime as required to meet business needs.
Required Qualifications
Education
- High School Diploma or GED required.
Skills & Experience
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Basic computer proficiency.
- Effective verbal communication and teamwork skills.
- Good organizational and time management abilities.
- Ability to perform repetitive tasks accurately.
- Basic mathematical skills including:
- Ability to interpret diagrams, batch records, and manufacturing documentation.
- Ability to work independently and within a team environment.
- Demonstrated initiative, adaptability, and willingness to learn from feedback.
Physical Requirements
The position requires the ability to:
- Work in ambient, refrigerated (2–8°C), and frozen (-20°C) environments.
- Stand and walk for extended periods.
- Lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
- Bend, squat, reach, push, pull, and perform repetitive hand movements.
- Maintain hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity.
- Meet visual requirements including color vision, depth perception, peripheral vision, and the ability to adjust focus.
Certifications & Training
Successful candidates must complete required task competency assessments and Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) certifications, including:
- Powered Air Purifying Respirator (PAPR)
- N95 Respirator
- Safety Glasses
