Able to lift 40 lbs. without assistance, Adherence to all Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) Safety Standards, Cleanroom: no hair products, jewelry, makeup, nail polish, perfume, exposed piercings, facial hair etc... allowed, Loud Noises (Equipment/Machinery), No contact lens allowed; prescriptive glasses will be provided, Some degree of PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) required (safety glasses, gowning, gloves, lab coat, ear plugs etc.), Standing for full shift

The Lenexa, Kansas Thermo Fisher location is part of the Microbiology Division.  As a member of the Lenexa team, you will help our customers find solutions and workflows for food, clinical and pharmaceutical environments.

Position Summary:  Package a variety of tubes and bottles filled with a variety of substances.  

What will you do?

·         Will work in packaging department with a variety of dispensed media in tubes/bottles.

·         Will work safely and efficiently with personal protective equipment (PPE).

·         You will partner closely with team members to achieve department goals.

·         Maintain output expectation, take ownership of quality, and follow standard operating procedures (SOPs).

·         Flexibility required in the value stream department.

·         Expected to be leading/complete documentation flow for all batches performed daily.

·         Perform other duties as assigned.

 

How will you get here?

Education

·         High school diploma or equivalent required.

 

Experience

·         Preferred- Aseptic Technique experience – Disclosure – You will be working with biological materials that are heated and scent is generated throughout department.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities

·         Must be 18 years old or older.

·         Flexibility and collaborating with a team of colleagues are essential. 

·         Reading, Writing, and Speak fluently in English and Math.

·         Critical thinking, with an eye for detail and confident in making quick decisions while maintaining an organized work environment is essential. 

·         A strong sense of accountability and safety attitude while working with different machinery.

·         You will need to be able to lift product up to 35lbs.

·         You will need to be able to push/pull up to 600lb kettles with mechanical assistance, be comfortable standing for long periods of time (around 10-12 hrs./day) and be able to see and distinguish color.

If you join the microbiology business prior to the close of the transaction, your employment is expected to transition to Astorg.
