Job description
- Support and guide production employees to ensure safe work practices and compliance with company policies, GMPs, and food safety standards.
- Assist in executing daily production plans by verifying schedules, materials, staffing, and aligning operations to required production rates (e.g., CPM, bags per minute).
- Monitor and communicate key performance indicators (KPIs) including production rates, yield, downtime, and quality; support corrective actions as needed
- Operate and support production equipment (ORICS, Jurans, box machines, checkweighers, and labeling systems) to maintain efficient and consistent line performance.
- Set up and verify coding and labeling systems (Videojet, PTI, LPN) to ensure accuracy, compliance, and product traceability.
- Perform pre- and post-operational inspections and routine quality checks on raw materials, in-process product, and finished goods to ensure specifications and GMP standards are met.
- Calibrate and monitor checkweigher systems and related metrics to ensure weight accuracy and minimize product loss.
- Maintain sanitation, GMP, and SSOP standards to support a clean and compliant production environment.
- Monitor and support production flow through HMI systems, helping identify bottlenecks and maintain steady throughput.
- Respond to equipment issues and process disruptions by making minor adjustments or escalating concerns as appropriate.
- Support line coverage by coordinating breaks and lunches to maintain continuous operations.
- Ensure accurate traceability through proper labeling, lot tracking, and documentation; identify and report non-conforming product or foreign material.
- Complete or assist with end-of-shift reporting, documenting production performance, KPIs, and any operational issues.
- Communicate effectively with team members and cross-functional departments to support efficient operations.
- Provide on-the-job guidance and support to team members on equipment operation, safety, and quality expectations.
- Follow and reinforce all safety procedures to promote a safe working environment.
- Working knowledge of production processes and KPIs
- Understanding of GMPs, food safety, and sanitation standards
- Ability to operate and support troubleshooting of production equipment
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Ability to stay organized and respond to changing production needs
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
High school diploma or GED required. Experience in food manufacturing or production environment
preferred.
