Position Overview
The Walt Disney Company is seeking a strategic and collaborative communications professional to join the Games & Digital Entertainment team as Manager, Communications. This role will support communications initiatives across Disney’s growing games business, including franchise gaming titles, partnerships and digital entertainment initiatives.
Games are an increasingly important part of Disney’s broader storytelling, extending narratives and fandom across platforms. As the business evolves, Disney is focused on creating original interactive experiences in collaboration with top creative and development partners, while also embracing the shift toward social and creator-driven gaming environments.
This role will help bring these efforts to life externally, supporting media engagement, major announcements, and executive communications, while helping to position Disney within the evolving interactive entertainment landscape.
The ideal candidate has experience across gaming, entertainment, technology, or consumer communications, with strong writing, media relations, and project management skills, as well as a passion for games, storytelling, and fan culture.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the development and execution of communications strategies for Disney Games & Digital Entertainment initiatives.
- Assist with communications planning for major announcements, launches, partnerships, showcases, and industry events.
- Draft press releases, talking points, briefing materials, executive messaging, and other communications assets.
- Build and maintain relationships with gaming, entertainment, and technology media.
- Coordinate media outreach, interview logistics, coverage tracking, and reporting.
- Partner cross-functionally with marketing, social, franchise, legal, and corporate communications teams.
- Monitor gaming industry news, creator activity, fan communities, and emerging trends.
- Support executive communications, internal communications, and issues management efforts as needed.
- Coordinate with external agencies and support campaign reporting, timelines, and budget tracking.
- Coordinate with external licensees and development partners to support game launch and live‑service communications, aligning messaging, timing, and brand standards across partner‑led ecosystems.
Required Qualifications
- 5–7 years of experience in communications, public relations, or related fields.
- Experience within gaming, entertainment, media, or technology industries.
- Strong written, verbal, and presentation communication skills.
- Experience supporting media relations and integrated communications campaigns.
- Understanding of gaming culture and fan communities.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, highly matrixed environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience supporting game launches, entertainment franchises, or digital products.
- Existing relationships with gaming or entertainment media.
- Familiarity with influencer and creator engagement strategies.
- Passion for games, entertainment, and digital storytelling.
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, Marketing, or related field; or equivalent professional experience.

The hiring range for this position in California is $115,500.00 to $154,800.00 per year. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.Job Posting Segment:
