Shifts:

• Days: 0630 – 1830
• Evenings: 1830 – 2330
• Nights: 1830 – 0630

Casual team members may pick up shifts based on availability and operational needs.

Wage:

• Starting wage: $38.00 per hour
• Wage increases at 1500 hours worked
• Additional increases at 2500, 5000, 7500, and 10,000 hours worked

• Completion of probation to end of Year 2 – 1% match

Our residence:

Opened in 2021, The Vineyards Residence is a state-of-the-art five-storey, 134-suite residence offering Enhanced Assisted Living and Memory Care services to the Okanagan region.

Our residence is designed around small neighbourhoods of 16–17 suites, creating a comfortable home-like environment where residents build meaningful relationships with their caregivers and neighbours.

This neighbourhood model allows our team to provide personalized, resident-centered care while fostering familiarity, comfort, and connection.

Position Summary:

The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) provides direct resident care, medication administration, and clinical support within our neighbourhood care model.

Casual LPNs support the care teams across day, evening, and night shifts while ensuring residents receive safe, compassionate, and high-quality care. This role works collaboratively with care aides, fellow nurses, and leadership to support resident wellbeing and maintain clinical standards.

Key Responsibilities

Resident Care:

• Administer medications safely and accurately
• Monitor resident health status and report changes appropriately
• Encourage residents to maintain independence whenever possible
• Ensure residents receive appropriate nutrition and hydration

Care Team Support:

• Provide leadership and direction to care aides during shifts
• Delegate tasks appropriately and support team collaboration
• Assist with staffing coordination when required

Documentation & Communication:

• Complete electronic documentation accurately and in a timely manner
• Ensure resident care needs and outcomes are properly recorded
• Communicate resident updates to team members and leadership

Resident Engagement:

• Provide companionship and meaningful interaction with residents
• Support residents in maintaining a sense of purpose and belonging
• Promote a positive and respectful environment for residents and families

Safety & Quality Care:

• Follow safety protocols for residents and team members
• Support infection prevention and control practices
• Identify and report safety concerns or clinical risks

Qualifications

• Current Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) registration with BCCNP in good standing
• Criminal Record Check – Vulnerable Sector
• Current First Aid / CPR Certification
• WHMIS Certification

Experience

• Experience supporting residents with dementia or Alzheimer’s disease preferred
• Graduation from an accredited Practical Nursing Program
• Equivalent combination of education, training, and relevant experience may be considered
