As we continue to grow, we are seeking a Nurse Practitioner to independently provide in-person and/or virtual psychological and mental health assessments, with a particular focus on youth and ADHD. This role is structured as an independent contractor opportunity, allowing you to maintain autonomy in your clinical work while being part of a connected and supportive practice.

The Nurse Practitioner will operate their own independent practice while utilizing clinic space and administrative support provided by The Therapy Collective. The successful candidate will bill the Ontario Health Insurance Plan (OHIP) directly for all insured medical services and will be responsible for their own clinical documentation, recordkeeping, professional liability insurance, and adherence to regulatory and professional standards.

Position Overview

This role is well-suited for a Nurse Practitioner with experience or interest in mental health who values both autonomy and collaboration. The NP will provide psychiatric assessment and medication management within a multidisciplinary team, contributing to integrated, client-centered care. You will have the flexibility to shape your schedule and clinical approach while benefiting from a supportive team environment.

Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive psychiatric and mental health assessments, including psychological assessments for youth and ADHD
  • Deliver ongoing, client-centered medication management
  • Collaborate with therapists to support coordinated, whole-person care
  • Build strong therapeutic relationships and support clients in understanding their treatment options
  • Determine appropriate assessment approaches, clinical documentation, and care planning procedures
  • Maintain accurate, timely, and compliant clinical records and patient charts in accordance with professional and regulatory standards
  • Bill OHIP directly for all services provided and manage all aspects of billing submissions and clinical reporting
  • Maintain professional liability insurance and ensure compliance with standards set by the College of Nurses of Ontario
  • Operate in accordance with applicable health privacy legislation, including the Personal Health Information Protection Act (PHIPA)
  • Participate in case consultations and team meetings, as desired

Qualifications

  • Registered Nurse Practitioner in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario
  • Experience or strong interest in mental health care, including youth and ADHD assessment
  • Experience supporting clients with PTSD and trauma-related concerns is considered an asset
  • Experience or interest in menopause and perimenopause care is considered an asset
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively
  • Commitment to trauma-informed, inclusive, and client-centered care

Clinic Resources Provided

The Therapy Collective Psychotherapy & Wellness provides independent practitioners with access to clinic resources to support their work, including:

  • A private, furnished office for in-person assessments
  • Access to the Jane app scheduling system for appointment booking
  • Administrative coordination support for scheduling and client communication
  • Secure Wi-Fi and clinic infrastructure
  • A professional mental health clinic environment

Business Support Service Fees

Independent practitioners utilizing clinic resources are responsible for the following business support service fees:

  • Monthly clinic support fee: $250 + HST
  • Per assessment resource fee: $100 + HST

The Nurse Practitioner bills OHIP directly and receives payment in their own personal or corporate account. A monthly invoice will be issued by The Therapy Collective Psychotherapy & Wellness for clinic resource usage.
