Journeyman Welder: Trucks, Trailers & Heavy Equipment

We are looking for a Welder to join our Summit Truck & Equipment Repair team in Salmo. Position Benefits

• 4 on / 4 off rotation with 11-hour day shifts. No night shifts!
• $29 - $38/hour based on experience
• 2 weeks vacation
• Direct deposit pay, twice monthly

Key Responsibilities

• General welding repairs on trailers, trucks, and custom equipment
• Perform welding repair inspections and time estimates on both on and off-road equipment
• Read and interpret drawings and specifications to determine requirements
• Complete Structural Welding
• Customize mobile equipment and/or parts as per the customer's request
• Provide welding support primarily in the shop and occasionally in the field
• Complete all required paperwork in a timely manner
• Develop a welding repair process with the Service Manager
• Work in a safe manner and follow all safety rules and guidelines

Required Qualifications & Skills

As a member of the Summit Truck and Equipment Repair team, we expect you to bring the following to the table:

• Journeyman Red Seal Welder certification
• 3-4 years of experience in commercial truck and trailer welding repairs
• Team player who can share his/her knowledge by teaching and coaching junior employees
• Ability to work safely in a challenging environment with minimal supervision
• Demonstrated analysis and problem-solving ability
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform physically demanding duties
• Must be computer literate and have the ability to learn new programs
• Demonstrate and promote work-safe practices
