Job Summary
This posting is for multiple Middle and High School teaching assignments for the 2026–2027 school year. Subject areas may include Math, English, Social Studies, Islamic Studies, Qur’an, Physical and Health Education, and other subjects based on school needs.
Teachers are responsible for delivering high-quality instruction to students in Grades 7–12 in their assigned subject area(s). They plan and deliver engaging lessons, assess student learning, maintain a positive and respectful classroom environment, and support students’ academic, personal, and character development.
Teachers are expected to uphold the school’s Islamic values, educational mission, and professional standards while fostering academic excellence, student success, discipline, and respectful conduct. They work collaboratively with administration, colleagues, parents, and students to create a safe, supportive, and effective learning environment.
This posting may apply to teaching assignments in subject areas such as Math, English, Social Studies, Islamic Studies, Qur’an, Physical and Health Education, and other secondary school courses based on school needs.
Duties and Responsibilities
In addition to the responsibilities outlined in the Employment Contract, teachers are expected to:
- Plan, prepare, and deliver effective lessons aligned with curriculum expectations and school requirements.
- Teach assigned subject area(s) using appropriate instructional strategies, resources, and assessments.
- Foster the intellectual, personal, spiritual, and character development of each student.
- Create a safe, respectful, inclusive, and engaging classroom environment.
- Support students in developing strong learning habits, discipline, responsibility, and respectful behavior.
- Maintain fairness, professionalism, and impartiality in all interactions with students.
- Assess student progress regularly and provide timely, constructive feedback.
- Prepare report cards, achievement updates, lesson plans, and required documentation by school deadlines.
- Communicate professionally with parents regarding student progress, concerns, and ways to support learning at home.
- Uphold high standards of written and spoken communication.
- Follow school policies, procedures, deadlines, supervision schedules, and administrative directions.
- Comply with MAC’s ethical code of conduct, dress code, and the school’s vision, mission, and Islamic values.
- Ensure the safety and well-being of students at all times.
- Supervise students during instructional time, assigned duties, transitions, and school activities. Leaving students unsupervised is not permitted.
- Accompany homeroom classes or assigned student groups on school trips unless otherwise directed by administration.
- Participate in staff meetings, professional development, school events, and assigned duties.
- Support extracurricular activities, clubs, student initiatives, or school programs as approved by administration.
- Collaborate respectfully with colleagues, administration, support staff, and parents to strengthen student learning and school culture.
- Maintain confidentiality and professionalism in all student, parent, and staff matters.
- Take ownership of concerns within the teacher’s role and work toward appropriate solutions, involving administration for guidance, support, or approval when needed.
Qualifications
Candidates must meet the following qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.), University Degree, or Master of Education.
- Experience: 1–2 years in a similar role.
- Certification: Provincial teaching certification (e.g., Ontario Certified Teacher – OCT).
- Skills & Competencies: Strong knowledge, skills, and abilities to effectively fulfill the responsibilities listed above.
