Job Description

The Role

We are seeking a hands-on Senior Cloud & Infrastructure Engineer to design, build, and operate secure, scalable Microsoft Azure infrastructure. This is a highly technical role where your primary focus will remain strictly on engineering, without the expectation of running business-facing meetings. You will have the opportunity to mature our cloud infrastructure practices and eventually step into a Lead position overseeing contract engineers.

First 30-60 Days & Key Initiatives

Your initial 30 to 60 days will be heavily focused on ramping up in our environment. We have immediate, fast-moving initiatives that require strong Infrastructure as Code (Terraform or Bicep) skills right off the bat. Early projects will include:

  • Transitioning currently manual deployments into automated, repeatable processes.
  • Preparing and readying the environment for Azure Integration Services.
  • Turning up an internal AI sandbox and establishing the appropriate security guardrails.

Core Responsibilities

  • Design, deploy, and support Azure infrastructure including virtual machines, storage, backup, and core platform services.
  • Build and manage infrastructure using IaC (Terraform, Bicep, ARM) to ensure repeatable and version-controlled deployments.
  • Design and maintain secure Azure network architectures, including Private Endpoints, Private Link, and hub-and-spoke models.
  • Partner with application development teams to support PaaS services, CI/CD pipelines, and secure app-to-service communication.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve infrastructure incidents across compute, storage, and networking to ensure production reliability.
  • Support legacy on-premises infrastructure as needed, including Meraki switch stacks and Fortinet switches.

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • 7+ years of experience in infrastructure, cloud, or systems engineering.
  • Strong hands-on experience operating production Microsoft Azure environments.
  • Proven experience implementing Infrastructure as Code in Azure.
  • Solid understanding of Azure networking, security, identity concepts, and disaster recovery solutions like Azure Site Recovery.
  • Financial services or regulated-industry experience is considered a strong plus.

Work Environment & Logistics

  • This position requires an on-site presence Monday through Thursday, with Fridays worked remotely.
  • Most work requests originate from within IT, so you will interface primarily with internal Project Managers and IT teams rather than direct business customers.
