Northwestern Mutual – Forest Park, doing business as Babitz Financial Group, is hiring a Client Portfolio Executive for our Greater St. Louis office.
This is a sales and business development opportunity for someone who wants more than a traditional Account Executive role. You will build your own client base, develop long-term relationships, and help individuals, families, and business owners make confident financial decisions. Northwestern Mutual will provide training and licensing support.
This role is best suited for someone who enjoys prospecting, networking, relationship sales, consultative selling, and owning the results of their work. You will be in business for yourself, but not by yourself, with training, mentorship, licensing support, planning tools, and the backing of Northwestern Mutual.
What you will do
As a Client Portfolio Executive, you will be responsible for building and growing your own book of business. You will identify prospective clients, create new relationships, uncover financial needs, and recommend solutions that help clients protect income, build wealth, plan for retirement, and prepare for major life events.
You will spend your time on:
- Client acquisition, prospecting, networking, and referral generation
- Building a personal book of business and long-term client relationships
- Conducting discovery conversations to understand client goals, priorities, and financial concerns
- Presenting financial planning recommendations and helping clients take action
- Learning Northwestern Mutual’s products, planning process, and market approach
- Using planning software, reporting tools, and illustrations to educate clients
- Maintaining and reviewing client plans as their needs evolve
- Developing your practice with the long-term opportunity to build a team
This is a strong fit for someone who wants ownership, upside, and a career where relationship-building directly translates into income growth.

- Northwestern Mutual’s planning tools, software, and product platform

- Asset and income protection
- Retirement planning
- Investment and advisory services
- Education funding
- Trust services
- Business needs analysis
- Financial planning strategies for individuals, families, and business owners
Who we are looking for
You may be a strong fit if you have experience in sales, business development, account management, client service, recruiting, real estate, banking, insurance, financial services, or another relationship-driven field.
We are especially interested in people who have:
- Prior client-facing, sales, or business development experience
- A track record of building relationships and earning trust
- Confidence initiating conversations with new people
- Strong communication and follow-up skills
- Entrepreneurial ambition and ownership mentality

Income growth opportunity
This is a performance-based opportunity where your income is tied to the client relationships and book of business you build.
