Job Opening for Staff Reporter in Mysuru Location

About the Company: The Hindu is looking for a Staff Reporter/Correspondent with about 3 to 5 years experience to join its team in Mysuru.

About the Role: The position involves coverage of news from Mysuru and adjoining districts of Mandya, Chamarajanagar and Kodagu with emphasis on clarity of language and accuracy of facts.

Responsibilities

• Coverage of civic, court, crime, political, environment, development and socio-economic issues across the region.
• Generate story ideas, develop sources and contribute across platforms including print, digital and video formats.

Qualifications

• The candidate should be a graduate/post graduate, preferably in journalism or communication, who has been writing news reports for English language publications.

Required Skills

• The ideal candidate will be a person, who is familiar with the local language (Kannada), culture, political, geographical and socio-economic scenario of Mysuru and the adjoining districts in Old Mysore region.
