Job Description

Sous Chef - Foundry at Claramount Club A Sous Chef acts as the Executive Chef’s second-in-command, leading daily kitchen operations, managing staff, and ensuring high-quality food production. They supervise food preparation, train staff, manage inventory, and step in to lead during the head chef's absence. This role is vital for maintaining food standards, safety, and efficiency.

The minimum amount of experience for this position is 4 years of a senior management or in sous chef equivalent role.

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Sous Chef to join our kitchen team at Claramount Club. Foundry is a newly opened restaurant which opened in November of 2025.

We are looking for individuals who are passionate about food preparation, cooking, and delivering exceptional food service. As a kitchen and company we take a healthy work environment and working culture seriously, and because of that we also seek individuals to help be a part of that.

This role involves preparing a variety of dishes in a fast-paced environment while maintaining high standards of food safety and quality.

This position is a full time position, working 5 days a week. Candidates will be expected to work weekends, holidays, and peak season times.

Duties

  • Lead the kitchen team along side the executive chef
  • Conduct interviews, training, and hiring for new kitchen staff
  • Creating and executing new menu ideas and concepts
  • Work within labour cost and food cost levels to align with the businesses goals
  • Prepare and cook menu items according to recipes and quality standards
  • Assist in food preparation, including chopping, marinating, and portioning ingredients
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of workstations and kitchen areas
  • Follow proper food handling and safety procedures at all times
  • Ensure that all dishes are presented attractively and served promptly
  • Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth kitchen operations
  • Monitor inventory levels and communicate supply needs to management
  • Adhere to health and safety regulations, including proper food storage and sanitation practices
