The Boeing CompanyBoeing Defense Space and Security (BDS) is looking for a Senior and Lead MP&P Technical Analyst, (NDE), to join our team in Berkeley, MO.
The Midwest Nondestructive Evaluation (NDE) and Fleet Support team is part of the BDS Engineering department. We are an engineering team supporting space, commercial and defense air vehicles programs such as: 787, 777X, F-15, F-18, AV-8B, T-7A, T-45, MQ-25, KC-46, P-8, B-52, B-1, KC-135, Executive Transport platforms, Commercial Crew Transportation, Space Launch, and weapon systems. Our team is responsible for NDE Engineering supporting of pre-production, current production, and post-production efforts.
Along with supporting the aforementioned space commercial and defense programs; the team provides supplier standup/certification, fabrication support/trouble-shooting and fleet support activities across the Boeing value stream. The team also conducts NDE research and development for both internal and external customers. Our team is located in three cities: Huntsville, AL; Oklahoma City, OK; and St. Louis, MO. The chosen candidate will support the Berkeley, MO location.

Position Responsibilities:
Apply nondestructive evaluation (NDE) methods/approaches, such as acoustic, electromagnetic, thermal, optical, and radiologic principles, in performing complex analysis and evaluation of parts, materials, processes, technology or equipment through research and testing to ensure safety, reliability and adherence to requirements and specifications.
Leads, coordinates, and conducts complex analysis of failed parts and processes to reduce or eliminate future failures.
Generates test plans, identifies, and categorizes failure, determines root cause and documents results and recommendations.
Maintain compliance with contractual and regulatory obligations.
Leads the proposal, development, and validation of revisions to procedures and specifications.
Determines suitability of parts, materials and processes and coordinates resolution of complex issues with suppliers and customers.
Support audits, root cause analyses, and failure investigations as a subject matter expert.
Supports continuous improvement of products and processes by leading the design, development, fabrication, testing, evaluation and implementation of new concepts and technology.
Provide technical guidance and mentoring to junior engineers and technicians.
Supports the Team Lead and work statement, assist defining strategies and/or provides consultation.
This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.
This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship.
A final U.S. Secret clearance Post-Start is required.
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
Associates degree or higher
Senior (Level 4) 6+ years of work-related experience with a bachelor’s or 7+ years of work-related experience with Masters or 4+ years with a PhD
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
Lead (Level 5) 9+ years of work-related experience with a bachelor’s degree or 12+ years of work-related experience with a masters or 9+ years of work-related experience with a PhD
5+ years of experience in Nondestructive Evaluation
5+ years of hands-on experience in NDE/NDT engineering in a regulated industry (e.g., aerospace, defense, energy).
Experience with nondestructive evaluation processes (e.g., ultrasonic testing, radiography, eddy current testing, and penetrant inspection)
ASNT Level 2 in multiple nondestructive evaluation processes (e.g., ultrasonic testing, radiography, eddy current testing, and penetrant inspection)
Experience working in multi-discipline teams, a strong desire to work with technical and non-technical customers.
Strong understanding of materials behavior, stress analysis, and fracture mechanics.
Experience with project management tools
Excellent time management skills to manage several simultaneous projects effectively and across various geographical locations.
Knowledge of Catia V5 or equivalent CAD/CAM software.
Active / Current Secret U.S. Security Clearance preferred but not required.
Ability to travel 10% of the time

Level 5 Lead: Education/experience typically acquired through advanced education (e.g. Associate) and typically 9 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience (e.g. Bachelor+7 years' related work experience, 11 years' related work experience, etc.)
