The Boeing Company is currently seeking an Entry Level Flight Simulation Software Engineer to join the Flight Simulation Labs team located in Berkeley, MO. This position will focus on supporting the Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) business organization.
Our Air Dominance software engineers design, develop, and demonstrate avionics solutions for the platforms we build and upgrade. Your efforts will assist in integration of innovative technologies to maintain our platform’s dominance over the battlefield for many decades to come. Additionally, our software engineers support the Flight Simulation products associated with our platforms.
The roles will involve software development for avionics simulation across Flight Simulation Labs. Selected candidates will be aligned to a statement of work that best suits their interests and skill set, some of which could include:
- Creating core simulation infrastructure to serve as a jumping-off point for programs developing flight simulation capabilities
- Developing tools to simulate, monitor, and capture messages between subsystems in a lab environment
- Modeling various aircraft capabilities, including the ability to run constructive scenarios in a testing environment
Position Responsibilities:
- Develops, documents and maintains architectures, requirements, algorithms, interfaces and designs for software systems
- Develops and maintains code and integrates software components into a fully functional software system
- Supports development of simulation environments to supporting testing performed by Mission Systems engineers
- Works on an agile team in order to accomplish team goals
- Executes and documents software research and development projects
- Works under general direction
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/ Experience):
- Bachelor’s Degree
- This position requires the ability to obtain a Secret U.S. Security Clearance for which the US Government requires U.S. Citizenship. Ability to obtain Secret U.S. Security clearance (Post-Start).
- Experience programming in C, C++, C, Python, Java, or Ada (or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience)
- Experience with Microsoft Windows
- Experience with MS Visual Studio, GIT and JIRA
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
- Bachelor’s, Master or Doctor of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry
- Knowledge of basic networking principles
- Experience working on an Agile team using Agile methodologies and tools such as Jira
- Strong coordination and communication skills

Pay is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as spanet and business considerations.
Summary pay range for Associate: $78,200.00 - $105,800.00.
