Your Role:

Tenable is seeking a Senior Product Marketing Manager to serve as the lead for our Public Sector go-to-market strategy, playing a pivotal role in advancing adoption and reinforcing Tenable's leadership within the Federal, State, Local, and Education markets. This position requires a balance of strategic thinking and hands-on execution, emphasizing the translation of Tenable's technical innovations into mission-aligned solutions for government agencies. In this role, you will develop a deep understanding of government customer needs, agency buyer motivations, and real-world use cases for exposure management in the public sector.

You will work closely with the product management and government affairs teams to influence the roadmap based on emerging legislative mandates and agency buying trends. You will oversee the go-to-market lifecycle for Public Sector solutions, from uncovering and validating use cases, to leading product launches, to enabling demand generation and sales execution. This role also involves engaging government practitioners and agency communities to drive product adoption and advocating for the unique needs of the Public Sector to shape Tenable's solutions.

Your Opportunity:

  • Serve as a technical expert leading thought leadership among government partners, customers, and at key industry events.
  • Lead new product and solution launches tailored to the Public Sector, ensuring successful positioning within government procurement cycles.
  • Develop messaging strategies that maintain technical accuracy and alignment with frameworks such as NIST, CISA Binding Operational Directives (BOD), and CJIS.
  • Provide actionable market insights on the legislative landscape (e.g., Cyber Executive Orders), customer feedback, and competitive analysis to influence product roadmaps, certifications, and go-to-market strategies.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to support complex government contract vehicles and channel-centric business models (e.g., Carahsoft, GSA).
  • Develop compelling demo use cases and sales plays focused on government-specific environments, including hybrid cloud, zero trust, and critical infrastructure.
  • Create impactful marketing assets including white papers on compliance, blog posts, website content, and specialized sales collateral for Federal/SLED account teams.
  • Partner with performance marketing teams to create and execute campaigns that drive awareness, engagement, and measurable growth within specific agencies.
  • Engage the government cybersecurity community through social channels, technical forums, and industry events to foster advocacy and adoption.
  • Contribute to analyst and public relations efforts to amplify Tenable's leadership in government-wide exposure management.
  • Develop and deliver partner and sales enablement programs, including training and resources that enhance customer success across the public sector.

What You'll Need:

  • 8+ years in product marketing or a related role within the Public Sector/B2G technology space.
  • Solid understanding of the cybersecurity market, with the ability to translate technical concepts (Vulnerability Management, Cloud Security, OT) into mission-level outcomes.
  • Proven experience leading product or solution launches that drive measurable results in the Federal or SLED markets.
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively with globally distributed teams and specialized government sales units.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to craft messages for both technical practitioners (CISO/ISSO) and executive agency leadership.
  • Ability to thrive in fast-paced, collaborative environments where change is the norm and the bar for quality is high.
  • Experience partnering with fast-paced, research-based teams to extract and market technical insights.
  • Ability to travel domestically up to 20% to engage with agencies and attend key Public Sector summits.
  • Based in the greater Boston, MA, or Columbia, MD areas.

And Ideally:

  • Deep familiarity with compliance frameworks such as FedRAMP, CMMC, RMF, or State-level cybersecurity mandates.
  • Demonstrated success in engaging government practitioner communities or running agency-specific advocacy programs.
  • Experience supporting analyst relations and PR programs tailored to the defense or civilian sectors.
