As an award-winning digital product consultancy and the digital division of TELUS https://www.telus.com/en/, one of Canada’s largest telecommunications providers, we design and deliver transformative customer experiences through cutting-edge technology, agile thinking, and a people-first culture.
With a global team across North America, South America, Central America, Europe, Africa, and APAC, we offer end-to-end expertise across various service offerings: Web, Mobile & Digital Marketing | Enterprise AI | Customer Care AI & Technology | Enterprise Technology Modernization
From mobile apps and websites to voice UI, chatbots, AI, customer service, and in-store solutions, TELUS Digital enables seamless, trusted, and digitally powered experiences that meet customers wherever they are — all backed by the secure infrastructure and scale of our multi-billion-dollar parent company.
About the Role
At TELUS Digital, you'll be at the heart of a major TELUS transformation program, working as a Business Systems Analyst who bridges business needs and technical solutions. You'll dig into user stories, assess impact on existing products, and help shape the integrations and services that keep our systems running smoothly.
This role is built for someone who loves solving technical puzzles as much as they enjoy communicating clearly with people across the business — someone who takes ownership, adapts quickly, and genuinely enjoys collaborative problem-solving.
What You'll Do
- Translate user stories and business needs into clear, well-structured functional requirements and technical specifications for development teams
- Design web service interfaces and produce detailed API specifications, covering service operations, request/response structures, field types, and edge-case conditions
- Investigate, test, and triage defects, then help coordinate and plan releases for the Integration Systems team
- Act as the connective tissue between technical and non-technical teams — facilitating discussions and keeping integration and web service work moving forward
- Produce thoughtful assessments and estimates covering scope, assumptions, risks, and effort to support planning and resourcing
- Champion data integrity and customer experience, spotting opportunities for process and performance improvements
- Partner with cross-functional teams to troubleshoot issues and deliver on shared objectives
Technical Skills We're Looking For
- 7+ years of experience building and supporting applications on a BSS/OSS COTS platform (e.g., NetCracker)
- 5+ years developing complex enterprise applications
- 5+ years of hands-on experience with core Java
- 5+ years writing and performance-tuning complex PL/SQL queries
- 3+ years building REST APIs
- 3+ years working with cloud-based development
- Solid grasp of microservices architecture principles
- Experience with Agile methodologies and Continuous Integration/Continuous Testing
- Understanding of Application Lifecycle Management, including service, release, and change management
- Comfortable leading root cause analysis, risk assessment/mitigation, and User Acceptance Testing (UAT)
Soft Skills That Will Help You Thrive
- Clear, confident communicator — equally comfortable writing detailed specs and explaining technical tradeoffs to non-technical stakeholders
- A natural problem-solver who takes ownership of outcomes, not just tasks
- Empathetic listener who takes time to understand what colleagues and clients actually need
- Collaborative by nature, and energized by working across teams and disciplines
- Adaptable and calm under shifting priorities, timelines, and scope
- Proactive mindset — always looking for ways to make things better
