Description

This team was created to break down data silos among public sector scientists through coordinated common experiments and on-farm research. We build pathways from scientific discovery to the development of expert-based and mechanistic models. These models are integrated into web-based decision support tools that also undergo human centered design phases for maximum usability and usefulness. Farmers are using our decision support tools to guide their decision making in (near) real-time and for long-term planning.

They are gearing up for expansion mode as they look to stand up their own Private Entity and begin growing their team as they are continuing to win awards and grants from the USDA. They are looking for a DevOps Engineer to help scale their platform as new projects come online and take ownership of their DevOps Ecosystem. There is desire for this person to provide mentorship to the junior engineers and interns that support this program. Responsibilities will include;

Design, build, and maintain CI/CD pipelines for multiple applications using GitHub Actions and Azure DevOps

Provision and manage cloud infrastructure using Terraform, Kubernetes, and Docker

Improve deployment workflows, automate environment setup, and enhance system reliability

Support applications built in React, Node.js, PostgreSQL, and Python (Flask/FastAPI)

Collaborate with engineers and researchers to ensure smooth project launches and consistent deployment standards

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Raleigh, NC.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $65.00 - $75.00/hr.
