Job Description
Role Overview
We are looking for an Associate Product Designer who bridges design and technical depth,
someone who can craft clean user experiences while also reading development documentation,
writing clear technical specs, and actively participating in QA processes. This is a hands-on co-
op role ideal for someone who thrives at the intersection of product design, documentation, and
software quality.
Key Responsibilities:
Product Design & UX
- Creating mockups and wireframes to visualize product features and improve user
experiences
- Collaborating with cross-functional teams (engineering, design, marketing) to ensure
smooth product development and delivery
- Assisting in defining, documenting, and prioritizing product features and enhancements
- Supporting customer inquiries and assisting with product-related issues or feature
requests
Technical Documentation
- Reading, interpreting, and working alongside API documentation to understand
integration capabilities and product constraints
- Creating and maintaining product documentation including user guides, tutorials, and
demo videos
- Writing clear technical specs and user stories that bridge design intent with engineering
implementation
- Documenting workflows, data flows, and feature logic in tools like Linear or Notion
QA & Product Quality
- Participating in QA testing of new features and bug fixes, validating functionality against
acceptance criteria
- Identifying, reproducing, and clearly documenting issues with steps to replicate in Linear
or similar tools
- Assisting with backlog grooming and ensuring user stories are clear, detailed, and sprint-
ready
- Solutioning for product requirements, ensuring features are properly defined and
actionable for the engineering team
- Helping ensure product features are delivered on time by assisting with product backlog
management
Skills & Qualifications
- Currently pursuing a degree Design with focus in UX/Product Design, Business,
Computer Science, Information Technology or a related field
- Foundational understanding of UX/UI design principles and the ability to produce
wireframes or mockups
- Comfort reading and interpreting technical documentation (e.g. API docs, integration
guides, developer docs)
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, able to translate complex concepts into
clear documentation
- Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills with a customer-first mindset
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities
- Basic understanding of product management principles and software development life
cycles (Agile/Scrum)
Differentiating Assets
- Experience with Figma, Stitch, or similar prototyping and design tools
- Familiarity with Agile methodology and product management processes
- Experience with eCommerce platforms like Shopify and their integrations
- Hands-on experience in customer-facing roles or understanding of customer and
business needs
- Familiarity with knowledge base and documentation tools (e.g., Notion)
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; familiarity with project tools like Monday.com, Jira,
or Trello is a plus
- An ability to take ownership of tasks and collaborate effectively with cross-functional
teams
