Engineer 2 – Telecom (Contract)

Overview
We are seeking an Intermediate Telecom Engineer to support the design and delivery of high-performance telecommunications networks. This role will contribute to critical infrastructure supporting real-time operations, connectivity, and system reliability.
Key Responsibilities
- Support design of telecom networks and circuits (fiber, microwave, IP/MPLS, LTE, etc.)
- Assist with drawings, material planning, and telecom infrastructure deployment
- Collaborate with project and construction teams to meet timelines and resolve field issues
- Support installation, testing, and commissioning activities
- Participate in site visits and provide technical support for field implementation
- Ensure compliance with engineering standards and best practices
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Computer Engineering, or related field
- 2+ years of telecom engineering experience
- Experience with telecom technologies such as:
- Fiber optics (DWDM/OTN), microwave, LTE, IP/MPLS
- Radio systems (VHF/UHF, satellite, WiMAX)
- SONET/TDM systems and teleprotection
- Knowledge of IP/MPLS (BGP, OSPF, QoS, VPNs, etc.)
- Experience with Nokia IP/MPLS platforms is an asset
Additional Skills
- Strong communication and technical documentation skills
- Understanding of project and construction processes
- Familiarity with CAD tools and design software
- Eligible for EIT registration
- Valid driver’s license (for site visits)
