Job Description
Role Objective The Position has been created to lead a team of Mechanical Designers and Technicians of the Operations team to define the process and build the machines needed to make the new products in line with the strategy map and market demand of TS India.
Job Requirements
- Responsible to Develop mechanical systems for plating lines, including tanks, piping, ventilation, automation (robots, conveyors), and ancillary equipment.
- Create detailed drawings and schematics using CAD software (SolidWorks, AutoCAD).
- Installation Commissioning:
- Oversee the installation of new equipment and lines, coordinating with contractors and vendors.
- Develop installation procedures and ensure adherence to project timelines and budgets.
- Maintenance:
- Troubleshoot mechanical issues in plating equipment (pumps, filters, rectifiers, automation).
- Implement preventive maintenance programs for machinery.
- Collaborate with chemists to optimize process flow and equipment integration.
- Ensure compliance with EHS (Environmental, Health, Safety) regulations, especially concerning chemical handling and waste.
- Conduct Root Cause Analysis (RCA) for mechanical failures affecting plating quality.
- Develop and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for mechanical operations.
- Manage project scope, timelines, and budgets for mechanical upgrades and new installations.
- Liaise with production, quality, and procurement teams.
- Improve the process to reduce CoPQ and improve OEE, by quality, uptime and productivity
Education and Knowledge
Critical Experience
- Experience working in medium or large matrix organizations.
- Experience in operations and maintenance in Plating or Chemical plant
- Mechanical and Pneumatic systems trouble shooting
- Proficiency in CAD software (SolidWorks, AutoCAD).
- Knowledge of PLCs, automation, and mechanical system design.
- Understanding of fluid systems, pumps, filtration, and material handling.
- Familiarity with plating chemistry and electrochemical principles is a plus.
