Key Responsibilities

1. Database Design & Data Modeling

Design and implement conceptual, logical, and physical data models based on business requirements.

Develop normalized and denormalized schemas, including tables, views, indexes, constraints, and relationships.

Ensure data integrity, scalability, and adherence to database design best practices.

2. Program Development (Procedures & Functions)

Develop, maintain, and optimize stored procedures, functions, triggers, and complex TSQL scripts.

Implement reusable and modular database components to support application logic.

Handle exception management, transaction control, and robust error handling.

3. Large Data Volume Processing

Design and implement solutions to efficiently process large datasets in highvolume transactional or analytical environments.

Optimize ETL/ELT workflows and ensure reliable data loading and transformation.

Work with bulk operations, partitioned tables, and large-scale indexing strategies.

4. Advanced Query Development

Write and tune complex TSQL queries involving joins, CTEs, window functions, and subqueries.

Optimize query execution plans to reduce latency and resource usage.

Ensure queries meet performance SLAs across multiple environments.

5. Performance Tuning & Optimization

Perform database performance analysis, index tuning, and server optimization.

Monitor and troubleshoot blocking, deadlocks, slow-running queries, and resource bottlenecks.

Work with SQL Server tools such as Query Store, Profiler, Extended Events, DMVs, etc.

6. Maintenance, Security & Support

Implement and maintain backup, restore, and disaster recovery strategies.

Enforce security best practices: access control, encryption, auditing, and data protection.

Provide L3 support for production issues, root-cause analysis, and performance enhancements.

Required Skills & Qualifications

Strong hands-on experience with Microsoft SQL Server (2016/2019/2022 preferred).

Expertise in TSQL, stored procedures, triggers, functions, indexing, and query optimization.

Solid understanding of data modeling techniques (OLTP/OLAP).

Experience processing large data volumes in enterprise-scale systems.

Strong knowledge of execution plans, indexing strategies, and performance diagnostics.

Experience with SSIS, ETL workflows, or equivalent data movement technologies is a plus.

Familiarity with Agile methodologies, CI/CD, and version control tools (Git).
