About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled FinOps / Cloud Cost Optimization Specialist to lead cloud financial management initiatives across multi-cloud environments. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with Azure and/or AWS, knowledge of FinOps tools and practices, and the ability to collaborate with both technical and executive teams to drive cost efficiency and governance.
Must-Have Technical & Functional Skills
- Hands-on experience with Azure and/or AWS cloud platforms
- Familiarity with Terraform, Kubernetes, and scripting languages (PowerShell, Bash, Python, etc.)
- Strong analytical, communication, and stakeholder management skills
- Solid understanding of Azure and AWS billing models
- Experience with FinOps principles, tools, and best practices
- Ability to engage with CxO-level stakeholders and drive cloud cost optimization strategies
Key Responsibilities
- Design and implement cloud financial management strategies and frameworks.
- Optimize cloud spend and enhance cost efficiency across multi‑cloud environments.
- Develop financial models, governance structures, and cost allocation mechanisms.
- Collaborate with engineering, finance, procurement, and vendor teams to foster a cost‑aware culture.
- Provide actionable insights through cloud usage analysis, dashboards, and cost reports.
- Analyze cloud consumption patterns and identify cost-saving opportunities.
- Implement effective tagging strategies and cost allocation models for transparency.
- Support cloud budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting processes.
- Partner with DevOps and CloudOps teams to align cost with performance and architectural decisions.
Preferred / Nice-to-Have Skills
- Experience using FinOps tools (e.g., CloudHealth, Cloudability, Azure Cost Management, AWS Billing Console).
- Exposure to Azure or AWS Well-Architected Framework assessments.
- Experience integrating cloud environments with ITFM / TBM tools like Apptio or ServiceNow.
- Knowledge of Azure DevOps, CI/CD pipelines, and automation frameworks.
- Strong understanding of cloud governance, security, and compliance fundamentals.
