Health Services Administration Director

A healthcare organization in Brooklyn, NY is seeking a Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) Director. This role provides operational, compliance, and reporting support for federally funded behavioral health grant initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day operational support for federally funded SAMHSA projects to ensure activities align with approved scopes of work, timelines, and deliverables.
• Track grant conditions, notices of award, and federal guidance to support timely implementation of required actions.
• Prepare, compile, and submit programmatic and performance reports while coordinating with program, finance, and leadership teams.
• Monitor project milestones, reporting deadlines, and compliance risks across multiple grants, escalating issues as needed.
• Support fiscal coordination, including expenditure tracking, budget alignment, and documentation that supports grant compliance.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in public health, social work, public administration, or a related field.
• Experience managing or coordinating federally funded grants.
• Strong working knowledge of SAMHSA compliance requirements, reporting, and grants management systems.
• Experience coordinating across multiple projects without direct supervisory authority.
• Strong organizational, documentation, and follow-through skills.
• Ability to manage deadlines, track requirements, and maintain compliance in complex program environments.

Desired Skills

• Experience working with multiple concurrent SAMHSA grants.
• Familiarity with behavioral health or substance use disorder programming.
• Experience in nonprofit or public-sector health and human services settings.
• Strong Excel skills and experience with expenditure tracking and reporting.
