Role & responsibilities
- Review mortgage applications and supporting documentation for accuracy and completeness.
- Strong Knowledge in 4cs.
- Evaluate borrower eligibility based on credit, income, assets, employment, and collateral information.
- Perform a detailed analysis of income and employment documentation (pay stubs, W-2s, tax returns, VOEs, etc.) to determine qualifying income (if applicable).
- Validate assets for down payment, reserves, and closing costs, ensuring proper sourcing and seasoning.
- Review preliminary credit reports, identifying potential red flags such as undisclosed debts, inquiries, or inconsistent information.
- Identify missing or incomplete documentation and condition files appropriately for further review.
- Communicate clearly with processors, loan officers, and other stakeholders regarding required documentation or any issues found.
- Document findings, calculations, and justifications in the loan origination system (ZOS).
- Work closely with Back-End Underwriters to ensure smooth handoff of files for final review and decision.
Preferred candidate profile
- Must have a minimum of 2 Years Experience in Live Underwriting.
- Immediate or Short Notice Period Candidate Preferred
- Willingness to work Night shifts & work from the office
