Role Description
This is a full-time, on-site role for a Climate Risk Analyst located in Bengaluru.
The Climate Risk
Analyst will assess and analyze climate-related risks to businesses, develop impactful insights, and recommend risk mitigation strategies. Day-to-day responsibilities include conducting data-driven research, preparing risk models, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and advising on sustainability measures. The analyst will also stay informed on evolving climate policies and their implications on financial and operational risk.
Key responsibilities include
- Conduct climate risk assessments covering physical and transition risks
- Develop and implement financial models to quantify climate-related impacts on revenue, costs, and asset valuations, credit risk, market risk, and portfolio performance
- Perform scenario analysis and stress testing using frameworks such as IPCC pathways, NGFS climate scenarios
- Integrate climate risk into enterprise risk management (ERM) and financial risk frameworks
- Support climate risk disclosures and reporting aligned with TCFD (Task Force on Climate-related Financial Disclosures), ISSB (International Sustainability Standards Board) and CDP
- Analyse large datasets and build quantitative models for risk forecasting and sensitivity analysis
- Work closely with finance, risk, sustainability, and compliance teams to embed climate considerations into business strategy
- Monitor evolving regulatory requirements and climate risk methodologies in financial markets
- Develop dashboards, reports, and presentations to communicate financial risk insights to stakeholders
- Support ESG strategy with a focus on financial materiality and risk-adjusted decision-making
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mathematics, Finance, Economics, or a related quantitative field
- 1–3 years of experience in financial modelling, financial risk management, or climate risk analysis
- Strong understanding of:
- Financial statements and valuation techniques
- Risk modelling (credit, market, or operational risk)
- Hands-on experience in data analysis and quantitative modelling (Excel, Python, R, or similar tools preferred)
- Familiarity with climate risk frameworks and disclosures (TCFD, ISSB, NGFS, CDP)
- Exposure to banking, insurance, asset management, or consulting environments (preferred)
- Experience with energy or macroeconomic modelling (preferred)
