Who You Are
The Director, Global Product Marketing is a senior leader who serves as the connector between Product Development, Brand Marketing, Creative, Retail Marketing, and International teams. This role owns the global product narrative—from insight to innovation to launch—and plays a critical role in shaping Supergoop!’s long-term product and franchise strategy.
You are equal parts strategist and operator, deeply consumer-obsessed, and comfortable leading cross-functional teams through complexity. You bring clarity, rigor, and inspiration to how products come to life and how they show up in the world.
Role & Responsibilities
Strategy & Leadership
- Own and evolve the global product marketing strategy, ensuring alignment with brand vision, business goals, and long-term growth priorities
- Partner with the VP, Brand Management and senior leadership to shape and manage a 3-year global product pipeline, including hero franchises, innovation priorities, and whitespace opportunities
- Make strategic recommendations on portfolio mix, franchise expansion, and market share growth
- Act as the senior marketing authority on all product-related decisions and narratives
Consumer Insights & Innovation
- Lead all global consumer insights, trend analysis, research, and surveys to identify innovation opportunities, limited-life exclusives, and franchise extensions
- Own consumer concept development for all new products, partnering closely with Product Development on formula direction, ingredients, and reason-for-being
- Maintain deep external market awareness to continuously identify gaps, threats, and opportunities
Product Development & Launch Excellence
- Lead cross-functional product launches end-to-end, partnering with Product Development, Creative, Regulatory, Packaging, Brand Marketing, Retail, and International teams
- Ensure programs are delivered on time, on brand, and with commercial impact
- Partner with Brand Marketing to ensure products are accurately and compellingly represented across 360 campaigns, including influencer briefs, PR, retail storytelling, and media
Messaging, Claims & Creative Direction
- Own the global product positioning, messaging architecture, and copy direction across all touchpoints
- Serve as the guardian of product storytelling, ensuring consistency across decks, creative briefs, retailer materials, and consumer-facing content
- Own all consumer and clinical claims, including research design with Product Development, legal alignment, leadership approval, and final consumer-facing claim strategy
- Lead product naming and global trademark processes in partnership with Legal, maintaining the trademark tracker across markets
- Oversee creative packaging development, including briefs, competitive context, copy needs, and design direction while ensuring feasibility, functionality, and cost alignment
Team Leadership & Budget Ownership
- Co-manage and develop the team Product Associate, with the Director of Brand Marketing, providing strategic guidance and oversight across their owned initiatives (kits, samples, pricing, artwork, product briefs, SRP analysis, competitive analysis, etc.)
- Manage the Global Product Marketing translations and comps budget, ensuring efficient allocation and global consistency
- Foster strong cross-functional relationships and act as a collaborative, solution-oriented leader
Job Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree required
- 8–10+ years of experience in product marketing within the beauty, skincare, or consumer products industry
- Proven experience leading global product strategies and complex cross-functional initiatives
- Strong strategic thinking paired with exceptional executional rigor
- Entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to navigate and influence within larger, matrixed organizations
- Impeccable communication and writing skills, with a sharp eye for storytelling and detail
- Highly collaborative leader with strong problem-solving skills and sound judgment
- Creative, curious thinker who independently generates and executes innovative ideas
Salary Range: $140,000 - $150,000/year + 12% bonus potential
