Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Minimum 5 years of progressive experience in mine data analytics, with experience in mining operations; open-pit mining experience strongly preferred.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with demonstrated ability to perform diagnostic analytics and translate data into actionable business insights.
- Hands-on experience with databases, data warehouses, and data lakes, including SQL Server, PostgreSQL, Synapse SQL Pool, Snowflake, Parquet, and Delta/Parquet in ADLS Gen2; proficiency in SQL, DAX, Python, Databricks and snowflake.
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment and present technical findings clearly to non-technical stakeholders.

- Conduct in-depth data analysis to identify trends, patterns, and actionable insights that drive decision-making in mining operations.
- Develop and maintain high-quality data products and dashboards, ensuring stakeholders have access to near real-time data for informed decision-making.
- Leverage data science techniques, including predictive modeling and machine learning, to provide insights that improve operational efficiency and performance.
- Promote a data-driven culture within the organization by advocating for data utilization in day-to-day operational decisions.
- Collaborate with key stakeholders across the organization to identify opportunities for operational improvements through data analysis.
- Stay current with evolving data science techniques, tools, and best practices, integrating them into the workflow to continuously enhance analytical capabilities.

- Location: This is an office-based role. You will work out of our Calgary head office, located in the Suncor Energy Centre at 150 – 6th Ave S.W
- Hours of work are a 40-hour work week, Monday to Friday
