Position: Utilities and Waste Coordinator at Suncor

Lead waste management efforts at Suncor's Firebag site. This safety-sensitive role focuses on hazardous and non-hazardous waste coordination, ensuring compliance and efficiency in operations.

Suncor is seeking a Utilities and Waste Coordinator with experience in waste management operations. You will oversee on-site waste activities, ensuring they meet rigorous environmental and safety standards. Additionally, managing contractor performance and contributing to waste reduction initiatives are key responsibilities of this position.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage hazardous and non-hazardous waste life cycles
• Oversee contractor execution and monitor performance
• Ensure compliance with environmental regulations
• Support RFP development and scope creation
• Assist with environmental incident response measures

Requirements

• 5 years of experience in hazardous waste management
• 2 years in contract management or vendor oversight
• Diploma/degree in Environmental Sciences or related field
• WHMIS 2015 certification required
• Strong knowledge of Alberta environmental legislation
