Automotive Service Advisor/Writer

Your mechanical knowledge and sales acumen will help customers understand their vehicle needs while promoting additional services that keep their cars running smoothly. This position offers an exciting opportunity to grow to Operations Manager Position within a fast-paced family owned environment dedicated to excellence and customer satisfaction.

Duties

• Greet customers warmly, listen attentively to their vehicle concerns, and accurately document service requests.
• Provide detailed explanations of recommended repairs and maintenance services, including auto diagnostics, and mechanical evaluations.
• Prepare precise auto estimates using computer-aided vehicle estimating tools and communicate repair options clearly.
• Upsell appropriate services such as oil changes, tire rotations, brake repairs, suspension work, alignments, shocks & struts, diesel engine repairs, Timning belt service, Tune ups, Cooling system Etc.
• Coordinate with technicians to prioritize repairs, monitor progress, and ensure timely completion of services.
• Handle cash transactions accurately and maintain meticulous records of all service orders and customer interactions.
• Maintain constant updates to customers to ensure they are informed about every step of their visit.

Experience

• Proven experience in auto service management or as a service writer within a dealership or automotive repair shop.
• Strong mechanical knowledge with hands-on experience in automotive diagnostics, vehicle maintenance, and repair procedures.
• Familiarity with automotive estimating software and computer invoicing preferably Mitchell 1/ Shop key.
• Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate technical information clearly and professionally.
• Experience in upselling services confidently while ensuring customer satisfaction.
• Background in mechanic work or service technician roles is highly desirable to enhance understanding of technical aspects.
• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record; driving experience preferred to facilitate test drives or vehicle inspections.

Pay: $60,000.00 - $85,000.00 per year
