Location: India (Remote)

Business Unit: Market Intelligence – Market & Financial Analysis Services

About the Role

The Technology Analyst, Renewables (Market Intelligence) is responsible for translating renewable energy technology developments into actionable market intelligence. This role focuses on technology-driven insights across the solar PV and energy storage value chain, supporting developers, EPCs, investors, lenders, and procurement teams with clear interpretation of innovation, performance limits, cost impacts, and bankability considerations. This role contributes directly to STS Market Intelligence products, ensuring that technology trends are connected to pricing, supply chain dynamics, procurement decisions, and investment risk.

Key Responsibilities

Technology & Market Intelligence

  • Track technology trends across solar modules, cells, wafers, inverters, and energy storage systems
  • Separate real technology progress from marketing claims
  • Translate technical innovation into implications for cost, performance, adoption, and risk

Research, Benchmarking & Analysis

  • Conduct structured research on performance, reliability, and technology roadmaps
  • Develop benchmarks and comparative assessments of products and suppliers
  • Identify technical risks and bankability considerations

Reports & Thought Leadership

  • Draft high-quality technology reports, briefings, and market intelligence content
  • Contribute to recurring publications and client-facing insights
  • Present findings clearly to technical and non-technical stakeholders

Client & Business Support

  • Support advisory engagements and respond to client technology queries
  • Assist with webinars, workshops, and conference presentations
  • Provide post-delivery technical support and advisory

Collaboration & Execution

  • Work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure high-quality delivery
  • Maintain structured datasets and transparent assumptions
  • Support strategic initiatives and OKR-driven projects

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, or related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in a similar role
  • Strong understanding of solar PV and/or battery storage technologies
  • Ability to link engineering realities with market, procurement, and investment insights

Skills Required

Technical & Analytical

  • Solar PV / energy storage performance, degradation, and failure modes
  • Benchmarking, cost-performance trade-offs, and market adoption dynamics
  • Strong Excel and business analysis skills (Power BI is a plus)

Communication

  • Excellent written and verbal English
  • Strong report-writing, storytelling, and presentation skills
  • Ability to explain complex topics to diverse audiences
