Job Summary

The Lab Assistant will support laboratory operations by assisting in sample preparation, testing, documentation, chemical handling, and maintaining laboratory cleanliness and safety standards. The role requires adherence to GMP, safety, and quality procedures applicable to chemical manufacturing industries.

Key Responsibilities

Assist chemists and analysts in laboratory testing and analysis.

Prepare chemical samples, reagents, and solutions for testing.

Perform basic laboratory tests under supervision.

Maintain laboratory instruments, glassware, and equipment cleanliness.

Record observations, test results, and maintain laboratory documentation.

Handle and store chemicals as per safety guidelines.

Ensure compliance with safety procedures, PPE usage, and housekeeping standards.

Support calibration and routine maintenance of laboratory instruments.

Assist in raw material, in-process, and finished product testing activities.

Maintain stock records of chemicals, consumables, and laboratory materials.

Dispose of laboratory waste according to environmental and safety procedures.

Coordinate with production and QC departments for sample collection and testing.

Required Qualification

B.Sc. in Chemistry / Diploma in Chemical Technology / Relevant Science Field.

Freshers or candidates with 12 years of laboratory experience in chemical or pharmaceutical industries preferred.

Required Skills

Basic knowledge of laboratory practices and chemical handling.

Understanding of safety procedures in chemical plants.

Valuable documentation and record-keeping skills.

Ability to work in shifts if required.
