System Administrator IT Infrastructure

Location : Gurugram Cairn Office

Experience : 5 years

Job Summary

We are looking for a proactive and detail-oriented System Administrator to manage and support enterprise IT infrastructure across multiple locations. The role involves administration of on-premises Active Directory, endpoint systems, file servers, data centre infrastructure, and Azure file shares, while ensuring compliance, security, and high availability of systems. The candidate will also provide end-user support and participate in audit and compliance activities.

Key Responsibilities

Active Directory & Identity Management

  • Administer and manage on-premises Active Directory, including users, computers, Organizational Units (OUs), and security groups.
  • Perform ID management activities such as user validation, account creation, enable/disable, password resets, and account extensions.
  • Ensure correct group memberships and access rights as per organizational policies.

Endpoint & Device Management

  • Manage laptops and desktops across multiple locations, including adding, removing, enabling, disabling, and deleting systems.
  • Maintain and standardize system hostnames.
  • Align endpoint devices with appropriate OUs and MDM groups.

File Server & Access Management

  • Manage file shares across all locations, including Azure File Shares.
  • Create and manage shared folders, including permission validation, security group creation, access implementation and troubleshooting.
  • Ensure access controls comply with security and audit requirements.

Data Centre Operations

  • Support management of Data Centre infrastructure.
  • Monitor and manage physical data centre systems and hardware.
  • Maintain detailed inventory of physical servers and virtual machines (VMs), including VM-to-node mapping.

Compliance & Audit Support

Sensitivity: Internal (C3)

  • Perform and support compliance audit activities, including validation of folder permissions at locations such as Gurgaon, Barmer, Suvali, and Yanam.
  • Documentation and reporting of audit findings.
  • Coordinate with internal stakeholders for data validation and handover activities.

End User Support

  • Provide End User Support (EUS) for system, access, and infrastructure-related issues.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve incidents related to AD, endpoints, and file access.

Required Skills & Technical Competencies

  • Strong hands-on experience with Windows Server & Active Directory (on-premises)
  • Experience in endpoint management (laptop/desktop administration, MDM alignment)
  • Solid understanding of file server permissions, NTFS, and access control models
  • Practical experience with Azure File Shares
  • Knowledge of data centre operations, physical hardware, and virtualization concepts
  • Experience maintaining infrastructure inventory (servers and VMs)
  • Familiarity with IT compliance audits and security best practices
  • Strong troubleshooting and end-user support skills
