Job description

About the Company

Every business in America needs a bank account to exist. The system that decides whether they're real, who's behind them, and whether they're a risk runs on infrastructure from the 1980s. We're rebuilding that layer from scratch.

We're building the identity layer for institutions across the United States—the most comprehensive business identity graph in America and every human connected to it. By combining public records, IRS data, sanctions lists, web signals, and fraud telemetry from more than 2,200 financial institutions, we resolve businesses and the people behind them in milliseconds. While legacy credit bureaus took decades to achieve modest match rates, we've built a platform delivering industry-leading accuracy in under two years.

Today, our platform is trusted by over 20% of financial institutions in the United States, along with leading fintech and lending infrastructure providers. The identity graph is rapidly becoming critical infrastructure for banks, marketplaces, gig platforms, AI companies, and commerce platforms that need to verify businesses and establish trust at scale.

Trust is the foundation of every financial transaction—and we're rebuilding it.

About the Team

We're solving real-time entity resolution at a scale few companies have achieved, combining dozens of data sources into a unified business identity graph capable of resolving entities in milliseconds. This is a challenging blend of graph AI, information retrieval, and fraud modeling.

You'll join a small, high-impact engineering team where ownership is meaningful, technical challenges are significant, and the infrastructure you build becomes mission-critical for customers. Ideas move quickly from concept to production, and you'll have the opportunity to shape systems that become foundational to business identity verification.

We're at a pivotal stage of growth. The core identity graph is established, and the next generation of challenges includes graph embeddings, fraud propagation models, real-time graph traversal with sub-100ms latency, and expanding beyond financial services into any platform that needs to establish business trust.

About the Role

We're building the most comprehensive, accurate, and continuously updated identity graph of U.S. businesses and consumers. Every entity, officer, address, relationship, and public record is responsibly sourced, normalized, linked, and continuously refreshed.

This identity graph powers fraud detection, Know Your Business (KYB) onboarding, portfolio monitoring, sanctions screening, and a growing suite of customer-facing APIs.

We're looking for a Senior Software Engineer to own product features end-to-end—from schema design and data ingestion to entity resolution, API development, multi-tenancy, and performance optimization under production workloads.

What You'll Do

  • Build and maintain scalable data ingestion pipelines that normalize heterogeneous public records into the identity graph.
  • Design and improve entity resolution systems capable of matching businesses and individuals across inconsistent and incomplete datasets.
  • Develop customer-facing APIs for search, monitoring, business lookup, and webhook delivery.
  • Own PostgreSQL schema design and perform zero-downtime database migrations.
  • Optimize database performance, ingestion throughput, and API latency as the platform scales.
  • Design and implement secure multi-tenant architecture with robust organization- and user-level access controls.
  • Collaborate with Product and Engineering teams to build highly reliable infrastructure powering customer-facing products.
  • Continuously improve system reliability, scalability, and developer experience.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Proven experience shipping production features across the entire software stack, from data ingestion through APIs and customer-facing applications.
  • Experience owning and evolving PostgreSQL schemas supporting business-critical applications.
  • Strong experience building scalable asynchronous Python services.
  • Deep PostgreSQL expertise, including:
  • Schema design
  • Query optimization
  • EXPLAIN ANALYZE
  • Index tuning
  • Zero-downtime database migrations
  • Experience building production APIs using FastAPI (or similar modern Python frameworks).
  • Experience implementing authentication, authorization, OpenAPI specifications, and structured response models.
  • Experience building secure multi-tenant systems with data-layer access controls.
  • Strong understanding of distributed systems, scalability, and backend architecture.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with entity resolution, record linkage, or fuzzy matching at scale.
  • Experience building search infrastructure using full-text, fuzzy, or vector search technologies.
  • Background in KYC, KYB, fraud detection, underwriting, or financial data platforms.
  • Experience with address parsing and normalization at national scale.
  • Experience building webhook infrastructure with retries, idempotency, ordering guarantees, and request signing.
  • Hands-on experience with Google Cloud Platform, including:
  • Cloud Run
  • Cloud SQL
  • Cloud Tasks
  • Batch processing pipelines
  • Startup or high-growth technology company experience.
