The Division of Technology Services (DTS) is seeking an experienced Technical Support Specialist III – Endpoint Administrator to support enterprise endpoint management solutions across the organization. This role works cross-functionally with IT teams and state agencies to design, implement, secure, and maintain Unified Endpoint Management (UEM) solutions.

This job may be filled at either of the levels listed below. (Rate as listed or in accordance with DHRM Rules for current state employees.)

  • Technical Support Specialist III, $34.06-$49.80
  • Technical Support Specialist II, $29.73-$45.91

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, deploy, configure, and support UEM solutions for desktops, laptops, mobile devices, and servers.
  • Implement device provisioning, enrollment, configuration, and compliance policies.
  • Develop and maintain security and configuration profiles aligned with industry best practices.
  • Automate endpoint management tasks including software deployment, patching, and configuration updates.
  • Monitor and troubleshoot endpoint management systems to ensure performance and availability.
  • Support endpoint security initiatives and participate in incident response activities.
  • Collaborate with IT teams to integrate UEM solutions with identity, security, and helpdesk systems.
  • Create and maintain technical documentation and follow established change management processes.
  • Provide technical support and guidance to end-users and IT support teams on UEM-related issues and procedures.
  • Participate in an on-call escalation rotation as required.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience managing enterprise endpoint management solutions.
  • Proficiency with UEM platforms such as Microsoft Intune, VMware Workspace ONE, or Jamf Pro.
  • Strong understanding of endpoint security, including encryption, authentication, and access controls.
  • Experience with scripting and automation (PowerShell, Python, Bash, AppleScript, etc.).
  • Knowledge of Windows, macOS, iOS, and Android device management.
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, GCP).
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical users.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 3+ years of endpoint management or related experience.
  • Experience supporting secure or regulated environments.
  • Familiarity with project management methodologies (Agile, Scrum, SAFe, etc.).
  • Relevant certifications (e.g., Microsoft Modern Desktop Administrator, VMware Digital Workspace, CompTIA Mobility+).
  • Understanding of Zero Trust security principles and state or federal compliance standards.
  • Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills, with the ability to solve complex problems, communicate clearly, and manage work independently.
  • Experience with ServiceNow IT Service Management (ITSM) modules, including creating, managing, and resolving incidents, problems, and change requests.

About The Role

Location – This position is currently a hybrid of both in-office and teleworking days, 2 days a week required in office and any mandatory in-office meetings. The Office location is at the Taylorsville State Office Building, 4715 S 2700 W, Salt Lake City, Utah. Please note, a position's eligibility for telework is established by agency management and is subject to change at their discretion at any time and for any reason.
