Salary Range: $35.94 - $38.13 /hour
Parkwood Institute is seeking a highly motivated Registered Pharmacy Technician to join the team passionate for pharmaceutical care and patient safety. In this position you will be responsible for technical tasks associated with pharmaceutical dispensing, compounding and for checking and approving the final release of products prior to administration to the patient. These activities are to be completed with particular focus on safety, accuracy and efficiency and must be in compliance with regulatory requirements, professional standards of practice, policies and guidelines.
Essential Qualifications
- Registered with the Ontario College of Pharmacists (OCP) as a Registered Pharmacy Technician
- Strong mathematical skills to accurately prepare, compound, and dispense medications
- Recent hospital or retail experience
- Knowledge of a Safety Culture in a Health Care Setting in compliance with the OHSA
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Strong organizational skills
- Ability to work independently as well as on a team
- Self-directed
- Health and physical condition consistent with heavy lifting, pushing, bending, walking, sitting, standing, and keyboarding
Preferred Qualifications
- Proficiency in French would be an asset
- Minimum two (2) years recent hospital pharmacy experience
- Previous computer experience, particularly with Cerner/Pharmnet pharmacy system
Teaching and Research
- St. Joseph's Health Care London through its affiliation with Western University and Fanshawe College is a leading research and teaching hospital. As an employee of St. Joseph's, you will be expected to engage in role related teaching and research activities in addition to any of your clinical duties
Immunization Requirements
- Provide vaccination records or proof of immunity against measles, mumps rubella, varicella (chicken pox), Hepatitis B, COVID-19 and influenza.
- Provide documentation of the Tuberculosis skin testing
