Location: Kolkata | Domestic and international travel required

We are looking for a senior business leader to build SRMB’s new growth pipeline through strategic partnerships, joint ventures, technology collaborations, international tie-ups, acquisitions, and new industrial opportunities.
Role Summary
This is a high-ownership corporate development and strategic partnerships role working closely with the promoter office and senior leadership.
The person will be responsible for identifying, evaluating, and developing serious growth opportunities for SRMB in India and international markets. This includes potential JV partners, acquisition targets, technology providers, manufacturing collaborators, licensing partners, distribution partners, and companies looking to enter or scale in India.
This is not a routine sales or business development role. The role requires someone who can scout opportunities, evaluate businesses commercially, build relationships, prepare investment cases, and drive follow-up until an opportunity is either converted or rejected.
Key Responsibilities
- Build a structured pipeline of new business, strategic partnership, JV, acquisition, technology collaboration, and international tie-up opportunities.
- Identify companies in India, Europe, Japan, the US, and other relevant markets with proprietary technology, differentiated products, strong margins, specialised know-how, export potential, or India-entry ambitions.
- Focus on steel-adjacent sectors, construction materials, infrastructure products, downstream steel, engineering products, building materials, green steel, sustainability, industrial products, specialised manufacturing, and select high-value sectors such as defence and aerospace components.
- Engage with foreign companies, Indian companies, embassies, trade bodies, chambers, investment promotion agencies, consultants, bankers, advisors, and sector experts.
- Position SRMB as a serious Indian partner for companies looking to enter India through manufacturing, distribution, licensing, joint venture, contract manufacturing, or strategic collaboration.
- Prepare company profiles, market maps, business cases, financial models, investment memos, strategic fit notes, and senior management presentations.
- Evaluate market size, margins, technology edge, competitive intensity, regulatory barriers, capex requirement, execution risk, payback period, and strategic relevance.
- Support discussions around JVs, acquisitions, technology tie-ups, licensing, distribution, contract manufacturing, and new industrial projects.
- Maintain a live opportunity dashboard covering status, strategic fit, financial attractiveness, next steps, ownership, and decision required.
- Ensure promoter time is spent only on serious, filtered, well-researched opportunities.

Ideal Candidate
- 12–20 years of experience in corporate development, strategic partnerships, M&A, JVs, international business development, new projects, industrial business development, or strategy.
- Experience in steel, metals, construction materials, cement, infrastructure, engineering products, capital goods, industrial manufacturing, building products, aerospace/defence components, or heavy industry preferred.
- Exposure to international collaborations, technology tie-ups, acquisitions, joint ventures, India-entry partnerships, or manufacturing-led growth opportunities strongly preferred.
- Strong commercial judgment, financial understanding, relationship skills, and execution discipline.
- Ability to prepare investment memos, market maps, business cases, financial models, and senior management presentations.
- Comfortable dealing with promoters, CEOs, consultants, bankers, embassies, trade bodies, foreign companies, and internal plant/technical teams.

- Only networks but cannot analyse a business.
- Only makes presentations but cannot drive follow-up.
- Cannot understand numbers, margins, capex, risks, and strategic fit.
Reporting
