Audio Operator

<p><strong>About the role</strong></p> <p>The Audio Operator will be responsible for operating, monitoring, and ensuring the highest-quality audio experience across all SportyNet productions—including live shows, recorded programs, interviews, match broadcasts, and digital streams. This professional will work closely with production, technical operations, engineering, and on-air talent to deliver clear, balanced, and reliable audio.<br>The Audio Operator plays a critical role in maintaining broadcast standards, troubleshooting issues in real time, routing audio signals, and ensuring a seamless sonic environment across all platforms.</p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p><strong>What you'll be doing</strong></p> <p>Live Audio Mixing &amp; Studio Operation</p> <ul> <li>Operate audio consoles during live shows, match broadcasts, studio recordings, and special productions</li> <li>Manage microphones, IFBs, intercoms, ambient mics, music beds, playback, and SFX</li> <li>Ensure proper gain structure, EQ, dynamics, and audio balance for hosts, commentators, analysts, and guests</li> <li>Apply audio transitions and mixes according to the show’s rundown and production cues<br><br></li> </ul> <p>Signal Routing, Setup &amp; Technical Preparation</p> <ul> <li>Set up microphones, audio monitors, IFB systems, comms, and other audio equipment required for productions</li> <li>Route audio sources across consoles, patch bays, and digital/NDI systems</li> <li>Conduct pre-show sound checks and rehearsals, ensuring all sources are clean and ready</li> <li>Validate audio feeds for remote guests, live contributions, and external transmissions<br><br></li> </ul> <p>Live Broadcast Quality &amp; Monitoring</p> <ul> <li>Monitor audio levels, loudness standards, phase alignment, and sync with video</li> <li>Detect and resolve issues such as noise, distortion, feedback, dropouts, and interference</li> <li>Ensure compliance with broadcast audio norms and channel sound identity</li> <li>React quickly to unexpected issues during live programming<br><br></li> </ul> <p>Collaboration with Production, Engineering &amp; Design</p> <ul> <li>Work with producers to interpret rundown cues, timing, and specific audio requirements</li> <li>Collaborate with engineering teams to maintain audio infrastructure and troubleshoot technical issues</li> <li>Align with video, graphics, and vMix teams to ensure seamless audio integration into the final broadcast output</li> <li>Support digital teams with proper audio levels and routing for online streams<br><br></li> </ul> <p>Field, Remote &amp; External Productions</p> <ul> <li>Assist with audio setups for field shoots, interviews, mixed zones, and remote productions when needed</li> <li>Operate portable recorders, wireless systems, and field mixers</li> <li>Guarantee clean capture and proper monitoring during external events<br><br></li> </ul> <p>Maintenance, Organization &amp;
