Job Title: Senior Accountant

Location: Arlington, VA (Hybrid/Onsite)

Compensation: $100-$120k

Hybrid: 3 days in office

Overview

We are seeking an experienced Senior Accountant to join our finance team in Arlington, VA with a multi-billion dollar organization. This opportunity offering competitive hourly pay and the potential for long-term growth within a dynamic organization. The ideal candidate will bring strong technical accounting skills, with a focus on accruals, joint venture financials, and financial analysis.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and review monthly accruals to ensure accurate financial reporting
• Prepare joint venture financial statements in compliance with applicable accounting standards
• Conduct trial balance fluctuation analysis and identify key variances
• Perform month-over-month (MoM) trend analysis to support financial insights and decision-making
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather and analyze financial data
• Assist with month-end close and ensure timely and accurate reporting
• Maintain and improve Excel-based models and reports
• Support external audits and provide documentation as needed

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
• 5+ years of relevant accounting experience
• Strong knowledge of accrual-based accounting
• Advanced Excel skills required (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, formulas, etc.)
• Experience with joint venture accounting and financial reporting preferred
• CPA or CPA track is a plus
• Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
• Excellent communication and organizational skills
