Corporate Accountant

Sparks Group and its client are seeking a Corporate Accountant to join a collaborative, high-performing finance team supporting a dynamic hospitality portfolio. This role offers the opportunity to work across both AP and corporate accounting functions, contributing to accurate financial reporting, strong internal controls, and continuous process improvement. Key Responsibilities:

• Maintain and update vendor master data to ensure accuracy and compliance
• Review, code, and process invoices while ensuring timely and accurate payments
• Perform banking activities, including payment verification, research, and issue resolution
• Ensure transactions align with internal policies and approval workflows
• Support month-end close through accruals, reconciliations, and reporting preparation
• Reconcile intercompany accounts and resolve variances
• Record and track interest income, accruals, and related adjustments
• Validate payroll journal entries against supporting reports
• Investigate and resolve discrepancies, vendor inquiries, and outstanding items
• Support 1099 reporting and employee expense reimbursement processes
• Assist with travel and expense programs and related systems
• Collaborate cross-functionally to improve processes and maintain accurate financial records
• Uphold internal controls to safeguard company assets

Qualifications & Skills:

• 2+ years of experience in accounts payable, corporate accounting, or both
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred
• Strong Excel skills and experience with financial systems
• Strong attention to detail, organization, and problem-solving skills
• Ability to manage deadlines, including during month-end close cycles
