Virtual Consulting Psychiatrist Opportunity (Part-time)

We are seeking a Part-Time Virtual Telemedicine Psychiatrist to join our team and provide accessible, high-quality psychiatric care to individuals in need. We offer flexibility in the number of clinics you provide each week or month, as well as the number of patients seen per clinic. In this role, you will provide consultation psychiatric assessments and up to three follow-up appointments, after which patients will be referred back to their Primary Care Provider with recommendations, medication regimens, and ongoing care considerations.

This virtual position is supported by Telemedicine Nurses who will obtain primary intake information prior to the consultation, attend virtual appointments, provide psychoeducation when recommended, facilitate referrals as directed, and coordinate follow-up appointments when warranted.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assess and treat patients on a consultative basis, with up to 3 follow-up appointments all provided virtually
• Patient is referred back to their Primary Care Provider with your recommendations
• Requirements:
• Eligibility with CPSBC; FRCPC preferred
• Experience or training in consultative mental health care
• Effective virtual communication abilities
• Commitment to team-based care and collaboration
• Flexibility for occasional in-person meetings if possible but not mandatory
