Responsibilities

• Review and analyze clinical documentation to ensure accurate coding of diagnoses and procedures.
• Assign appropriate medical codes using ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS coding systems.
• Ensure compliance with federal regulations and coding standards.
• Collaborate with healthcare providers to clarify documentation when necessary.
• Maintain confidentiality of patient information and adhere to HIPAA regulations.
• Participate in ongoing education and training to stay updated on coding practices and guidelines.

Skills and Qualifications

• Proficient in ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS coding systems.
• Strong understanding of medical terminology and anatomy.
• Detail-oriented with excellent analytical skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
• Strong communication skills for collaboration with healthcare providers.
• Certification in medical coding (e.g., CPC, CCS) is preferred but not mandatory.
• Familiarity with electronic health records (EHR) systems.
