Dealership Title Clerk - Dave Smith Motors

Our Title Clerk will be responsible for the processing of all car deals. This includes verifying costs for the accounting department, including reconditioning and equipment add-ons, and handling the legal transfer of documents for the Department of Motor Vehicles.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Process all new and used vehicles for registration and prepare tax and title documents.
• Submit all legal transfer work to the Department of Motor Vehicles and verify application accuracy and completeness.
• Verify that funds have been collected and correct lien holders are paid off before processing title applications.
• Prepare payoff checks for new vehicles and trade-ins; bill out dealer trades and prepare Certificates of Origin.
• Maintain a system to verify out-of-state titles and compile a complete list of all outstanding title work.
• Report to management on the status of missing or problem titles and provide a current list of outstanding titles to the comptroller at month-end.
• Process and register all vehicle warranties and extended service contracts, maintaining a log of all contracts processed and mailed.
• Process yearly renewal of dealer tags in conjunction with the comptroller and stay current with title regulations.

• High school diploma or the equivalent.
• Experience within a Automotive dealership operations office.
• Ability to read and comprehend instructions and information.
• Valid drivers license and a good driving record.
• Good Judgment

• All applicants must be able to demonstrate ability to pass pre-employment testing to include background checks, MVR, drug test, credit report, and valid driver license
