About the Role:

Perform assembly and disassembly of various engines and their assemblies, accessory units , and driven equipment . Build complete engines and driven equipment prior to and after testing. Perform overhaul of engines, packages, and assemblies.  Perform balancing of rotating parts and assemblies.

What You Will Do:

  • Assemble, tear down, reassemble, and rework complete engines, assemblies, subassemblies, accessory units, and driven equipment

  • Utilizing a working knowledge of turbomachinery products and working from operational paper, blueprints, written and/or oral instructions, or photographs

  • Disassemble and rebuild any Solar or customer turbomachinery product

  • Balance a variety of parts, assemblies, and subassemblies to Solar standards

  • Change accessible filters and lubricate own machine tools as required

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High School diploma, GED or equivalent

  • Minimum 1 year of experience using power tools and other equipment to perform troubleshooting, repair, and installation. 

  • Understanding of engineering schematics and blueprints

  • Experience using general repair tools and equipment

  • Ability to work overtime as needed

  • Must be willing to work any shift

Preferred Qualifications: 

  • 3-5 years of mechanical experience on Turbine equipment, installation, repair, and maintenance.

Summary Pay Range:

24.15 - $41.86

Compensation and benefits may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, job level, market, location, job-related knowledge, skills, individual performance, and experience.  Please note that salary is only one component of total compensation at Caterpillar.
