Overhead Cable Laying Technician

Job Summary

The Overhead Cable Laying Technician is responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing overhead cable networks using poles and aerial infrastructure. The role involves fieldwork at heights, ensuring proper cable routing, and maintaining network quality and safety standards.

Key Responsibilities:

• Install and lay overhead (aerial) cables on poles, buildings, and other structures.
• Perform pole-to-pole cable stringing and fixing as per route plans.
• Ensure proper clamping, lashing, and securing of cables.
• Identify and clear route obstacles for smooth cable installation.
• Perform maintenance and repair work for damaged or sagging cables.
• Follow safety procedures, especially while working at heights.
• Coordinate with field engineers and TL for daily tasks.
• Maintain daily work reports and ensure timely completion of assigned work.

Skills & Requirements:

• Knowledge of overhead cable laying techniques and pole infrastructure.
• Ability to work at heights (pole climbing / ladder work).
• Familiarity with tools like ladders, safety belts, clamps, and cable rollers.
• Basic understanding of fiber optic / broadband networks (preferred).
• Physically fit and capable of handling fieldwork.
• Strong attention to safety and quality standards.
• Good teamwork and coordination skills.

Qualification:

• ITI / Diploma / Any technical qualification (preferred).
• Basic training in electrical/telecom work is an advantage.

Experience

• 0–3 years of experience in overhead cable laying / telecom fieldwork.

Pay: ₹15,000.00 - ₹35,000.00 per month
