IT Infrastructure Engineer - Network

Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced IT Infrastructure Network Engineer to join our growing IT team. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, implementing, and managing the organization’s Network Infrastructure, which includes ISP, firewalls, routers, switches, WiFi and VPN across multiple facilities. You will play a crucial role in ensuring the stability, scalability, and security of our network environments. The ideal candidate will possess in-depth knowledge and hands-on experience in network architecture / administration and the integration of both with best security practice principle in mind. You will also be responsible for troubleshooting complex issues, optimizing network and system performance, and collaborating with Infrastructure System engineers and other departments to ensure business continuity and technology alignment with organizational goals.

Key responsibilities

Network Infrastructure Architect & Administration

• Design and implement network infrastructure, including LAN, WAN, VPN, wireless networks, and related technologies
• Maintain and optimize the performance of routers, switches, firewalls, access points and other network equipment
• Monitor network performance, resolve network issues, and troubleshoot connectivity problems
• Implement and manage network security protocols, including firewall configurations, intrusion detection systems, and user VPNs
• Manage public IPs from ISP and internal IP usages
• Plan and execute network gear upgrades, expansions, and migrations in alignment with business needs

Security and Compliance

• Ensure that network infrastructures meet corporate security policies and compliance standards
• Regularly assess and perform security audits of the infrastructure to identify potential vulnerabilities
• Optimize firewall policies, proactively filter traffic logs detecting threats
• Respond to security incidents and participate in recovery efforts if required

Integration and Cloud Solutions

• Manage and maintain the site-to-site VPN network integration between multiple on-premise facilities and Cloud environments such as AWS, Azure
• Participate in network infrastructure and security best practice for Cloud operations

Collaboration and Documentation

• Work closely with infrastructure system engineer to ensure the best practice of the IT infrastructure
• Work closely with cross-functional teams to support IT-related projects and initiatives
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior IT staff
• Document system configurations, network setups, and procedures to maintain operational continuity and compliance
• Document system changes, incidents, issue causes and solutions

Must to Have Skill Sets

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent experience
• 6+ years of experience in IT infrastructure management, with a focus on network administration but also familiar with system administration
• Deep understanding IT network infrastructure best practices for design and implementation
• Strong network infrastructure knowledge including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, routing/switching, firewall and network security
• Strong experience with Palo Alto firewalls, Global protect VPN and Cortex security tools
• Strong experience with network and system performance management tools
• Experience with Windows Server, Linux/Unix, and VMware environments
• Excellent hands-on experience with disaster recovery and Veeam backup solutions with HP tape library
• Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and work in a fast-paced environment
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
• Strong planning, communication and interpersonal skills
• Maintain a strong habit of documenting throughout the project lifecycle, including deployment, system changes and incident logs.
• Proactive mindset with a focus on problem-solving and continuous improvement.
• Demonstrated ability to work independently while fostering a collaborative team environment.

Qualifications & Nice To Have

• Network certifications such as Cisco CCNA, CompTIA Network+
• Firewall certification for Palo Alto
• System certifications for Microsoft Windows infrastructure
• Cloud infrastructure certification for AWS and Azure
• Experience with infrastructure automation tools: Teraform, Ansible, Puppet, Chef
• Familiarity with scripting languages: Batch, PowerShell, Bash
• Familiarity with Docker, K8S, ECS etc
