Mid-Level Android Software Engineer

You will engage in exciting software engineering within an Agile development environment, contributing to the creation of cutting-edge prototype robotic systems that support live training exercises.

Travel: 10-15%

Security Clearance: An ACTIVE Secret Clearance is required for this position. Applicants selected will undergo a security investigation and may need to meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. US Citizenship is essential to obtain a clearance.

Requirements

• Must be a United States Citizen
• Minimum of four (4) years of Python software development experience
• Strong understanding of Android software and application development
• Proficient in documenting software source code, specifications, and manuals
• Experience with modeling/simulations, interface coding, TCP/IP, and serial communications
• Exceptional oral and written communication skills
• Able to collaborate effectively with government and contractor personnel
• Thrives in a flexible and dynamic work environment

Responsibilities

• Develop, troubleshoot, and maintain Python software typically designed for ROS2 (Robot Operating System)
• Design and create advanced applications for the Android platform
• Act as an Agile Scrum team member ensuring the delivery of quality software
• Immerse in understanding various robotic systems
• Support all aspects of the system development lifecycle including analysis, requirements definition, design, coding, testing, maintenance, and documentation

Preferred Skills and Experience:

• Experience developing and maintaining live mobile applications for Android Tactical Assault Kit (ATAK) systems
• Familiarity with ROS2
• Proficient in C++ for performance-critical code
• Experience developing software for Ubuntu
• Willingness to travel for on-site test events
• Adept at team collaboration and interfacing with external entities
• Quick adaptability to evolving requirements
• Agile/SCRUM methodology experience
• Knowledge of Git and GitLab
• Experience with Hardware-in-the-loop (HWIL) and/or Software-in-the-loop (SWIL) testing

Education: A Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in an engineering, scientific, or technical discipline from an accredited institution is required.

Compensation

The projected annual compensation for this role ranges from $80,000 to $110,000 (USD). Compensation is influenced by various factors, including experience, education, training, security clearance, work location, and relevant skills.
