Senior .NET Software Developer

We're looking for a seasoned .NET developer to join the Coulter Software team on a full-time remote basis. You'll work on a mix of client engagements and internal product development including legacy application modernization, cloud migrations, and AI-powered platform builds. This role is a great fit for someone who's done real work in transportation or rail systems and is ready to bring both deep .NET expertise and modern cloud/Python skills to a lean, capable team.

5-8 years of professional .NET software development experience

Strong SQL Server skills (schema design, stored procedures, query optimization)

WinForms experience, comfortable maintaining and extending desktop applications

ASP.NET (Web Forms and/or MVC/Core)

Prior experience in the transportation industry, ideally rail

Experience modernizing or migrating legacy applications

At least one of: active AWS certification, Python/Django development experience, or DevOps/CI-CD pipeline experience

Strong written and verbal communication skills, client-facing work is part of the role

Develop, maintain, and modernize .NET applications for clients across transportation, logistics, and manufacturing sectors

Work with legacy WinForms and ASP.NET codebases, improving stability, performance, and extensibility

Design and optimize SQL Server databases and stored procedures

Contribute to cloud migration and AWS deployment efforts

Build or support Python/Django components where applicable

Participate in DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, deployments, and infrastructure automation

Collaborate directly with clients and internal team members throughout the project lifecycle

Document technical decisions, architecture, and processes
