Salary:
The hourly wage for this position ranges from $31.00 - $44.00 and varies based on specific responsibilities and geographic location. Starting hourly rate within this range will be determined based on the candidate's experience, qualifications, and/or skillset.
Shift:
Monday - Friday 8:00am - 4:30pm
Summary:
Under general supervision, this position maintains, troubleshoots and services electrical and electronic systems, machinery, and controls and supports all production and physical plant equipment in the facility. Complies with applicable regulations and the company’s safety program
Essential Functions:
- Perform work requiring a thorough knowledge of electrical theory and principles, statutory codes, and principles of operation of electrical equipment.
- Respond quickly to issues or concerns that may put employees at risk for injury, to include rectifying immediate dangers.
- Plan work procedures and determines replacement needs or new material required and develops a logical approach to correct the problem.
- Analyze circuits, wiring diagrams and drawings to install, repair, calibrate, service and replace electronic devices and systems.
- Dismantle, inspect, and replace electrical machinery and replaces defective electrical or mechanical parts.
- Repair, install, replace, and test electrical circuits, equipment, and motors using appropriate tools and testing instruments.
- Troubleshoot and repairs electric controls, motor control centers, and programmable logic controls.
- Examine work orders and converse with equipment operators to detect equipment problems whether electrical or mechanical.
- Start up and shuts down equipment in accordance with operation's requirements, company safety procedures and OSHA requirements for machine activation and shutdown.
- Perform scheduled preventive maintenance tasks such as checking, cleaning, or repairing equipment to detect and prevent problems.
- Maintain equipment logs that record performance problems, repairs, calibrations, or tests.
- Calibrate testing instruments and/or equipment to prescribed specifications.
- Perform preventative maintenance tasks as recommended by the manufacturer and or the facility’s historical data.
- All other duties as assigned.
Education:
Electrical apprenticeship and/or vocational school/technology certificate in electricity.
Experience:
- Five (5) years of electrical technical hands-on experience including wiring automation machine control panels and PLCs.
- Adherence to apply standards per the National Electrical Code, National Electrical Safety Code.
- Ability to use appropriate hand, power and specialty tools and diagnostic equipment to complete job tasks.
- Ability to read, use and understand gauges, tools and instruments relating to equipment repair.
- Scissor lift driving experience is preferred but not necessary.
- May need to be on call at times
